County Commissioners Declare Constitution Week, 2024

Yesterday, September 11, 2024, several of us attended the Josephine County Commissioners' business meeting where they read a Proclamation declaring September 17 - 23, 2024 to be Constitution Week, with September 17 being Constitution Day.  President Linda Smith received the actual Proclamation from Commissioner, Andreas Blech.

Did you know that in 2004, Public Law 108-447, Section 111 was passed requiring the following:  "Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an education program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution."

Constitution Day Scholarship Fundraiser Sept.17,2024

September 17, 2024.

Wild River Pub, 533 NE F St.  11 AM -

1 PM

Our very special speaker is Ray Hacke from Pacific  Justice Institute, who will be speaking about our  US Consitution, and his passion to our protect religious freedoms.  An award-winning sportswriter before becoming an attorney,  Mr. Hacke felt compelled to switch careers because he saw that religious liberty was under attack.Hacke says. “Religious liberty is one of the chief principles that America was founded on. I felt called to fight on God’s side in the courtroom because if that particular foundation is destroyed, Christians and others will no longer be able to practice their faiths. I couldn’t stand by and let that happen.”

We will be having a fundraising luncheon  plus an irresistable collection of delicious treats  -

COOKIES BY THE POUND,  100% of all money raised with the cookie sale will go toward the Constitution Essay Scholarship Fund, This essay contest is open to all graduating Senior HS girls in Josephine County.
